As a mum to two children, for a long time I had already been trying to find healthy and tasty biscuits which they could take to school. Because as a parent, you want the best for your children, and want to be able to put snacks in their school bag with a clear conscience, knowing that the food is rich in nutrients, and will give them energy without causing sudden sugar highs. I know all too well how hard it is to find that kind of snack on the shelves nowadays.
My quest for more nutritious and healthy biscuits for my children led me to start working to develop them myself, together with a product developer, with Ghent University, and a paediatrician. Because what I found in the shops absolutely did not meet my requirements... and seeing as so many children are big fans of biscuits, and want to eat them every day, I kept looking... for a nutritious and sensible choice... which is how my third child was born... LilaLou biscuits!
